Emergency Roof Tarping in Idaho Springs, CO

Emergency Roof Tarping in Idaho Springs, CO

Emergency roof tarping is a temporary waterproof cover fastened over damaged roofing to stop water entering the building until a permanent repair can be scheduled. Idaho Springs, CO Storm Damage Roof Repair treats it as the first job on any storm call in Idaho Springs, CO, ahead of estimates, ahead of paperwork, ahead of everything.

The reason is simple arithmetic. A roof that has lost shingles keeps letting water in every hour it stays open. Water reaches the decking, then the insulation, then the drywall below. A repair that would have run a few hundred dollars becomes a ceiling replacement and a mould problem. Tarping stops that clock.

Done properly, a tarp is not a sheet weighted with bricks. We run heavy-duty poly over the damaged section with enough overlap onto sound roofing to shed water, wrap the edges around furring strips, and fasten into solid decking rather than into shingles that are already loose. Fastenings get sealed. A tarp fitted this way holds through the next storm, which matters because storms in Idaho Springs, CO rarely arrive alone.

Most insurance policies require you to prevent further damage after a loss, so tarping also protects your claim. We photograph the damage before covering it.
